McClain is heading to Rio as a member of Team USA!!
After a successful weekend at U.S. Paralympic Swimming Trials in Charlotte this weekend, McClain has earned a spot on the U.S. Paralympic Team competing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in September.
As a member of Team USA, McClain will be the youngest swimmer on the Team at 15.
McClain needed to lower her personal best time of 1:26:09 by almost three seconds in the 100M backstroke on Saturday to qualify to make the Paralympic Team. Not only did she make the Minimum Qualifying Standard (MQS) she took almost four seconds off her Backstroke and hit the wall at a 1:21:88.
She also got a MQS in the 400 Freestyle and had a PR in the 100M Breastroke on Friday.
